See below for some common problems a Solo machine might encounter, along with their symptoms and solution.

Machine will not connect to display

  • The Kinetic Control interface will not show up

  • The Kinetic Control never says “Connected” in the bottom left corner

  • Confirm USB cable is connected to machine properly

  • Confirm USB cable is connected to display (iPad, computer, etc.) properly

  • Shutdown the machine for 10 seconds, then reboot

Tool drawer cannot be closed

  • The machine was faulted or the E-stop was pressed while the tool drawer was out

  • The tool drawer cannot be closed because the machine needs to be homed, and the machine cannot home because the tool drawer is open.

  • Open the machine’s door and manually push the tool drawer to the closed position

Low or no flow of cutting fluid at spindle

  • There is no flow or limited flow of cutting fluid at the machine’s spindle

  • The cutting fluid pump is louder than normal

  • Ensure coolant override is at 100% in Kinetic Control

  • Empty chip bin and check chip bin filter for significant blockage

  • Check cutting fluid level

  • Change cutting fluid filter

Door failed to open within 10 seconds.

  • Door does not open

  • Door does not open all the way

  • Ensure air is connected to machine

  • Ensure machine is receiving at least 100 psi

  • Check that there is nothing physically restricting the door from moving

Tool changer failed to open within 4 seconds.

  • Tool drawer does not open

  • Tool drawer does not open all the way

  • Ensure air is connected to machine

  • Ensure machine is receiving at least 100 psi

  • Check that there is nothing physically restricting the drawer from moving

Tool changer failed to close within 4 seconds.

  • Tool drawer does not close

  • Tool drawer does not close all the way

  • Ensure air is connected to machine

  • Ensure machine is receiving at least 100 psi

  • Check that there is nothing physically restricting the drawer from moving

UI won’t come up or connect

  • Browser shows timeout error

  • Try flipping the USB-C cable connection at the machine
